Ted Green Ford Invites You to Drive One for Rochester High School

August 28, 2010, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Rochester High School, 222 South Main Street,

Ford Motor Company and Ted Green Ford are partnering to help raise up to $6,000 in support of Rochester High School as part of the Drive One 4 UR School program. Members of the local community will have the opportunity to raise money for the Rochester High School Athletic Department by test driving a Ford. The one-day event takes place on August 28, 2010 at Rochester High School. Ford Motor Company and Ted Green Ford will donate $20 to Rochester  High School for every person from an individual household who test drives a a Ford vehicle.

Each test drive will last approximately 5 minutes.

Participants must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license.  Limit one test drive per household. Interviews are available with Ted Green Ford representatives. Please contact Colleen Gerald at (603) 387-4892 or colleen@capitoldirect.net.

Third Annual Pierce Hall Community Center Independence Day Dash

Saturday July 3, 2010
Right before the Parade!
5-Kilometer (3.1 Mile) Running Race and Walking Event
Registration begins at 7:45 AM at Rochester School.
BOTH Events begin at 8:30 AM.
Awards at 10:00 AM. Enjoy the Parade at 11 AM.

All proceeds will benefit the Pierce Hall Community Center restoration project.

B-24’s and L-20’s

Military Aircraft Crashes in the Green Mountains
April 25th from 1 to 3 PM at the Forest Service office on RT 100
Authors Brian Lindner and Bill Powers will present a slide show program on two military aircraft crashes in the Green Mountains. Learn about the B-24 “Liberator” bomber crash on Camel’s Hump in October of 1944 and the story of the one survivor. Then hear about the L-20 that crashed south of Brandon Gap in October, 1957 killing all aboard. Talk to folks (including Bill Powers and Tom Simpson) who went to the L-20 crash site that fall. Learn how a “Dowser” helped relocate the wreckage fifty years later.

This program will be held at April 25th from 1 to 3 PM at the Forest Service office on RT 100, north of Rochester.Free and open to the public, this program is sponsered by the Rochester Historical Society
