WRVP Mid-winter Play Reading

Thursday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m., 2010 at the Park House on Main Street in Rochester.
The White River Valley Players invite everyone to attend a mid-winter play reading of “God of Carnage,” described as “a comedy of manners…without the manners.” Led by director Jeanne Rogow, four actors will present the story of two sets of Brooklyn parents who meet to resolve a playground altercation between their 11-year-old boys.

At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the meeting progresses, tensions emerge, and the gloves come off, leaving the couples with more than just their liberal principles in tatters. Currently on Broadway, the play was written by Yasmina Reza, and is the winner of the 2009 Tony Award. It is recommended for audiences of high school age and older.
